Anthony Foxx

Business leader, former Secretary of Transportation, and former Mayor of Charlotte, Anthony Foxx has spent his career bridging divides while building a better world for everyone.

Growing up in Charlotte, he was raised by a single mother and his grandparents–both school teachers. This family of educators taught him that access is vital to helping people improve their lives. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in history at Davidson College, where he served as the first African American Student Government Association President, and a law degree from New York University School of Law.

He now serves as Professor of the Practice of Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and is the current Chair of the Davidson College Board of Trustees.
